Zero to One Million: How I Built A Company to $1 Million in Sales . . . and How You Can, Too ReviewThis book offers sound advice about starting a business, but not waiting till everything is all perfectly lined up before you do so.
** In some ways it reminds me of Ready, Fire, Aim Ready, Fire, Aim: Zero to $100 Million in No Time Flat (Agora Series) but I like this one a little bit better. **
The author talks about how if you were going somewhere but waited till all the lights were green before you left the house, you would never leave. He also talked about how you could cross the country at night with just your headlights providing illumination. You would never know what was way up ahead but just as in business if you know where you want to go you can get there if you keep working at it, even if you don't see the whole path ahead of you yet.
** Some of the other good stuff is how you plan what you want to achieve in life, break it down to a strategy of what you want in 20 years, then break that down to what you want in the next year and use a 6 month or year as a tactic for gradually moving towards your long term goal. But he also shows how to use a daily goal or weekly plan to achieve your 6 month or yearly goal. In other words you break down your plans into daily, achievable bites that add up over time. **
Things like Passive Income are discussed and how to implement them into your life and business.
It takes a lot for me to be really impressed but this young man has produced a lot of wisdom in this book. I just hate how some people put it down without even reading it. They should be ashamed of themselves.
There's more in the book but as someone who takes their reviews seriously let me just say that this will be one of the best business books you can read if you are thinking about starting your own company and want some encouragement and tips for how to proceed.
I might come back and add to this review later on but for now this should tell you what it is about.

The Ultimate Web Marketing Guide ReviewI have developed several hundred websites over the last decade, optimized them for Google, and have made millions for my clients. So while this book didn't offer much to me in the way of new ideas, it's easily the best all-in-one guide ever written for beginning and intermediate web marketers.
In the introduction, Michael Miller points out that the book intentionally doesn't get too advanced on things like search engine optimization. Ideally you can purchase a few other books related to SEO, site structure, and writing copy. Otherwise, this book does a terrific job laying out the foundation.
The most interesting aspect of this guide is that it explains everything without being overly technical. More importantly, the book is incredibly thorough. Miller breaks down what web marketing entails, how to create a marketing plan, how to analyze your results, and even how to budget yourself.
The guide leaves no stone unturned. Someone new to marketing will learn everything from tips on having a site designed, paid web advertising campaigns, blogging, newsletters, and even promotion on social networking sites like Facebook. He not only offers suggestions, but provides plenty of links to sites with web tools to help you. The later chapters on mobile marketing for iPhones and similar gadgets are worth their weight in gold. Miller has seen the writing on the wall, and I have to admit that the five chapters on marketing for cell phones gave me plenty of new ideas.
As an expert at Search Engine Optimization and getting sites to rank well on Google, I was genuinely surprised at just how much the author knew about SEO. There were more than a few techniques that he could have included, but his suggestions were surprisingly on the money.
I've never heard of the author before, but I'll concede that he knows his stuff. If you're a seasoned web marketer, the book may not bring much to the table aside from the chapters on mobile marketing. But if you're a business owner, or not advanced at online marketing yet, this book is a must-have. In it he says, "Marketers don't understand buyers, the problems buyers face, or how their product helps solve these problems. That's where the gobbledygook happens." He also states, "Because these writers don't understand how their products solve customer problems, they cover by explaining how the product works and pepper this blather with industry jargon." Return on Engagement (ROE) is far from that and exactly the type of book that satisfies David Meerman Scott.
I read Tim's first book, Managing Interactive Products, and Tim sticks to his guns again: be real, have something to offer, and be interesting. He shows marketers how to do that and drive the right audience to your site by focusing earning their trust. Tim explains that the reality is that blogs, social media sites, etc., should be used to help people, build a reputation, earn their trust, and then earn their business as they become advocates for you and your brand.
You probably already know a little bit about the digital technologies mentioned in this book. However, ROE shows how to create a digital strategy and the workflow to execute the tactics. Tim starts by explaining how to listen to online conversations and learn what ideas people have about you and how and why these should form your strategy. He teaches the importance of relevant content, how to publish effectively, and how to integrate your keyword strategy across all touch points/channels.
This books gets you thinking and jotting down notes. All sections contain bullet points with relevant questions that you should answer during your planning stage. Tim practices what he preaches. This book is part of the off-site technique to drive traffic to his site. It's all about driving people to the web. That's why you have to visit the website to download the mobile chapter. Highly suggested!

This book helps anyone who is starting online marketing and it provides an excellent checklist for experienced webmarketers. In fact, her Web Marketing Methods Checklist in chapter 2 is worth the purchase price of the book alone.
When you want to "drill deeper" on any particular online marketing strategy, you will then have to explore other online marketing resources and information. For example, Peter Kent's Pay Per Click Search Engine Marketing For Dummies provides thorough information about pay per click advertising, including Google Adwords.
